Hong Kong Liver Cancer (HKLC) staging system is a classification and treatment algorithm for hepatocellular carcinoma based on tumor characteristics and extent, performance status, stage of liver disease and Child-Pugh class, and other associated co-morbidities. The tumor is classified as early, intermediate or locally advanced. A stage is assigned based on the combination of tumor status, ECOG performance status, CP class and extra hepatic vascular invasion or metastasis (Stages I, IIa, IIb, IIIa, IIIb, IVa, IVb, Va, and Vb). The treatment recommendations (surgery, transplant, ablation, transarterial therapies, systemic chemotherapy/clinical trials, and supportive treatments) are based on the assigned HKLC stage. This application implements the HKLC staging system and management recommendations based on the user provided input.
